Landscape Production Manager, Aspen Corporation, Daniels, WV
Aspen Corporation landscape division is seeking a Production Manager. Job responsibilities will include daily supervision of 8 landscape mowing and maintenance crews. Production Manager will promote and inform crew members of all company policies and best work procedures, quality control, and on-site working with crews for training in proper procedures and safety practices. Position will require some daily production work as a job superintendent on larger jobs. Responsible for the scheduling and field direction of landscape maintenance crews of assigned duties within times and man hours allotted and proper quality. Also responsible for daily completion of all required paperwork.
Employment benefits will include life and health insurance, holiday pay, annual vacation, 401K plan. Applicant requirements include a Turf Management or Horticulture degree preferred, a West Virginia pesticide license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire, a minimum of 2 years experience in landscape maintenance, golf course maintenance, or closely related field, and prefer an individual with superintendent or assistant experience. Cool season grass experience a plus. The individual must be motivated, well organized and posses leadership qualities. This is a new position in the Aspen landscape division. Lawn Technician
Sales, service and production of fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide applications to client lawns. Diagnosis of all lawn conditions and pests, including current recommended treatments. Communication with clients for scheduling of estimates and treatments. Accurate daily completion of route sheets. Join our team of two other lawn technicians in this rapidly growing division of our business.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Agronomic turfgrass experience preferred but will train the right person with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Valid drivers license with clean driving record for last three years
Landscape Installation Foreman
Prior experience required with larger landscape company. Knowledge of plant identification, landscape planting procedures, grading and lawn installations, all hardscape including; dry laid patios, retaining walls and decks required. Ability to run a large crew desired. Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Leadership skills a must, snow clearance experience preferred. Landscape Maintenance Foreman
Prior experience required with larger landscape company. Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Leadership skills a must, snow clearance experience preferred.
Proficiency in Horticultural skills to include:
Bed edging and mulching
Leaf clean up including proper leaf blower and vacuum operation and practices
Proper shearing and natural pruning skills
Lawn seeding/lawn installation and grading
Ability to identify and diagnose insect and disease problems on local trees, shrubs and lawns
Proper mower operation and practices a plus
Identification of annual and perennial flowers and ornamental trees and shrubs
Small equipment operation a plus
Experience with Skidsteer a plus
Snow Removal Experience a plus
Mowing Foreman
Responsible for the field direction of a mowing crew to maintain customer’s lawn and beds properly with the times and materials allotted. Responsible for properly mowing, trimming and cleaning up after lawn mowing. Also curb and sidewalk edging and maintaining beds weeds free. Also deadheading, fertilizing and watering annuals and perennial flowers. Responsible for accurate daily completion of all required paperwork and route sheets. Responsible for proper maintenance and cleaning of all tools, equipment and vehicles assigned.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Proper mower operation and practices
Proper trimmer operation and practices
Proper leaf blower and vacuum operation and practice
Identification of annual and perennial flowers
Proper bed mulching
Proper leaf clean up practices
Proper bed edging practices
Valid drivers license with clean driving record for last 3 years
Proficiency in snow clearance and salt applications
Proficient in safe truck and trailer operation
West Virginia Applicator’s Technician license required or ability to obtain upon employment
Tractor/skid steer operation preferable
Demonstrate ability to delegate to and manage others on crew
Demonstrate ability to interact with customers
Ability to set pace for crew
Ability to train crew members
Desire to learn new tasks and assume new responsibility preferable

Individuals must be skilled in installing pavers, bricks, and natural stone walls. They must be capable of learning and developing skills and mastering functions of a physical and organized nature, capable of lifting 50+ lbs. and performing vigorous physical labor.
Garden Maintenance Foreman
Career opportunity for a garden maintenance foreman. Salary will be commensurate with skill level. Looking for an individual who has extensive plant I.D. skills, and knowledge of Trees, Shrubs, Perennials and Annuals. This individual should also have Pruning knowledge and experience with Trees, Shrubs, Perennials, Roses and grasses. The Foreman will perform and oversee others in planting, watering, deadheading, weeding, mulching, staking, pruning, and problem solving, etc. Disease and Insect I.D. not required, however, must be able to take the necessary steps to diagnose and treat the problem – either on own or by using outside experts.
Landscape Irrigation Foreman
Seeking experienced landscape irrigation foreman. Wage will be commensurate with skill level. We are looking for a skilled and motivated. Should be able to run a 3 man crew, have the ability to read and understand irrigation drawings, understand pipe sizing, and have some knowledge of well systems. Experience and references must be shown.
Landscape Irrigation Laborers
Seeking landscape irrigation laborers. Wage will be commensurate with skill level. We are looking for motivated candidates who are eager to learn. Must have the ability to learn the technical side of irrigation, follow directions and work well with others. All candidates should have good communication skills and be able to lift 50 lbs.
Machine Operators
Seeking machine operators. Wage will be commensurate with skill level. We are looking for motivated candidates who are eager to learn. Must have the ability to learn the technical side of irrigation, landscape construction, and hardscape construction. Candidate must work well with others, have good communication skills and be able to lift 50 lbs.
